To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own and shape the end‑to‑end technical architecture of the Payments Platform, ensuring scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance
  • Act as design authority for complex and high‑risk payments initiatives across multiple squads and domains
  • Define and enforce engineering standards, reference architectures, and non‑functional requirements (availability, latency, throughput, security)
  • Lead technical decisions across multi‑rail payments (e.g. real‑time, high‑value, cross‑border) and platform capabilities such as orchestration, clearing, and settlement
  • Embed security, controls, and operational resilience by design, partnering closely with Risk, Cyber, and Controls teams
  • Drive modernisation and platform evolution, reducing technical debt and enabling faster product and client onboarding
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers, tech leads, and architects across Payments Technology
  • Influence delivery and outcomes without direct line management, acting as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders
  • Ensure high standards of engineering quality, including test strategy, CI/CD, observability, and incident learnings
