Job Description:

A prestigious, charitable architecture firm, known for its commitment to creating inspiring and sustainable designs, is seeking a dedicated Principal Designer to join their team. The role involves overseeing a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, and providing comprehensive design risk management.

Job Responsibility:

Provide the full scope of Principal Designer services, including compiling pre-construction information, managing design risk assessments, and ensuring CDM compliance
Work closely with design teams and clients to develop and implement effective safety and design strategies
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and regulations
Lead CDM workshops and provide training to design teams on best practices in risk management and safety
Review and approve construction phase plans, ensuring all safety measures are in place and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

Degree qualified in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering
NEBOSH Construction Certificate
Membership with IOSH or APS
Extensive experience in delivering Principal Designer services within a consultancy or architectural practice
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
