Job Description:

A leading national multi-disciplinary consultancy in the property, infrastructure, and construction industries is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to manage the design risk management process and ensure compliance with CDM regulations. The role is based in Birmingham and involves working on significant projects to enhance safety and efficiency in construction processes.

Job Responsibility:

Leading the design risk management process and acting as the Principal Designer under CDM 2015 regulations
Coordinating with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into the design process
Conducting thorough risk assessments and advising on risk mitigation strategies
Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information, construction phase plans, and health and safety files
Facilitating design team meetings and workshops to promote best practices in health and safety
Providing training and guidance on CDM regulations and safety protocols.

Requirements:

NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
Significant experience in a Principal Designer role within the property, infrastructure, and construction industries
Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with strong problem-solving abilities.
