Job Description

A dynamic, leading boutique data strategy consultancy is seeking a Principal Data Consultant for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on interesting and complex data strategy and transformation projects. You will engage with a wide variety of clients, from large enterprises and small start-ups to niche charities, taking ownership of projects across the full lifecycle.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and drive high-impact strategic data initiatives for clients
  • Work across and lead client projects spanning data governance, data strategy development, data maturity assessments, data literacy initiatives, and technical data and analytics projects
  • Act as the client's primary point of contact
  • Lead workshops with senior stakeholders
  • Define scope of work and manage project plans
  • Mentor and guide more junior team members
  • Apply hands-on data skills through coding, supporting data migrations, or assisting with data integration

Requirements

  • Strong background in managing and delivering complex and/or strategic data projects across the full lifecycle
  • Experience within a client-facing consultancy environment
  • Experience creating data strategies and familiarity with data maturity assessments, data vision development, use case and value mapping, data governance and data literacy programmes
  • Exposure to or experience in designing, building and configuring end-to-end analytics solutions including writing basic code (SQL or Python), data modelling, data migration, and understanding of general IT architecture and systems integration
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills up to CxO level
  • Self-starter who can take ownership of projects and lead teams
  • Commercial exposure to developing and delivering proposals, presentations or bids is desirable
