Are you a visionary data leader looking to make a lasting strategic impact? We are seeking a Principal Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a central enterprise data capability. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will shape the target-state data architecture, eliminate fragmented systems, and ensure that data is managed as a critical strategic asset to enable high-quality analytics and evidence-based decision-making.
Job Responsibility
Lead Enterprise Data Capability: Design, implement, and lead a central data capability that coordinates data architecture, governance, engineering, and business intelligence into a unified service model
Develop Target-State Architecture: Design and maintain the target-state enterprise data architecture, ensuring it aligns perfectly with overarching ICT strategies and government frameworks
Establish Core Platforms: Build and establish a robust core data platform utilising Microsoft Azure and enterprise BI tools to support consistent, high-quality analytics delivery
Coordinate Data Demand: Monitor data requirements across various divisions, guiding active projects to avoid duplication of effort while actively promoting shared enterprise solutions
Engage & Assure Solutions: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, internal technical teams, and external vendors to validate detailed designs and ensure seamless integration that aligns with security and privacy standards
Requirements
Senior Data Experience: Proven experience operating in data architecture or senior data management roles within highly complex organisational environments
Technical Expertise: Advanced skills and technical expertise across modern data platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, ArcGIS, SQL, and Power BI
Modelling & Governance Knowledge: Strong capabilities in business and data modelling, systems integration, and a sound understanding of data governance, quality, privacy, and security frameworks
Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence the adoption of standards, mentor staff, and engage effectively with both technical and business teams
Autonomy & Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of working independently to deliver high-quality outcomes
