Job Description:

Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for electrical hardware design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value
  • creates plans for integration and update into architecture
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards
  • integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall architecture and leads platform architecture process across business
  • Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development innovation and excellence

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Typically 10+ years experience
  • Using electrical design tools and software packages
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions
  • Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture
  • Evaluating, proposing, and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management
  • History of innovation with multiple patents in the field of electronics packaging
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels
