Job Description:

The Principal Consultant is a senior technical leader who partners closely with clients and internal teams to design and deliver modern cloud solutions. This role emphasizes deep AWS expertise while supporting clients that operate across multiple cloud platforms, including Azure and GCP. In addition to delivery leadership, this role plays a key part in pre-sales efforts by supporting the sales team with technical guidance, solution design, and client conversations. The Principal Consultant helps shape opportunities early, ensures proposed solutions are sound and achievable, and builds client confidence from the first interaction. This role is hands-on when needed, but primarily focused on architecture leadership, decision-making, and driving successful outcomes rather than day-to-day implementation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to client stakeholders, including engineering leaders, architects, and executives
  • Lead discussions around cloud strategy, platform design, and modernization approaches
  • Help clients define realistic roadmaps that balance business goals, security, cost, and operational maturity
  • Translate business problems into clear technical solutions that teams can execute
  • Partner with the sales team during pre-sales activities to support opportunity development
  • Participate in client discovery calls, technical deep dives, and solutioning sessions
  • Help define scope, architecture approach, assumptions, and risks during proposal development
  • Review and contribute to statements of work, ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility
  • Act as a trusted technical voice in early client conversations to build credibility and trust
  • Design and review enterprise-grade AWS architectures, including networking, identity, security, compute, and data services
  • Provide architectural guidance for clients operating in multi-cloud or hybrid environments
  • Set technical direction and guardrails for delivery teams across engagements
  • Ensure solutions align with AWS best practices, security standards, and client constraints
  • Guide clients in adopting infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and modern CI/CD practices
  • Advise on observability, reliability, and operational readiness, including logging, monitoring, and incident response
  • Help organization move from project-based delivery toward sustainable platform and product models
  • Mentor architects and senior engineers across projects
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical decisions
  • Contribute to internal reference architectures, standards, and accelerators
  • Support internal capability growth and consistency across cloud engagements

Requirements:

  • 10 or more years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or enterprise systems
  • Strong background delivering consulting or professional services engagements
  • Experience working directly with client leaders and technical decision-makers
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on technical depth with strategic advisory responsibilities
  • Deep experience designing and operating solutions on AWS in production environments
  • Strong understanding of services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, and S3
  • Experience designing for security, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
  • AWS certifications preferred, especially Solutions Architect Professional
  • Working knowledge of Azure and or GCP
  • Ability to compare cloud services, patterns, and tradeoffs across providers
  • Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud architectures, even if AWS is the primary platform
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable presenting to clients and facilitating technical discussions
  • Pragmatic mindset that balances ideal architecture with real-world constraints
  • Collaborative, calm under pressure, and trusted by both clients and internal teams
What we offer:
  • Comprehensive healthcare package (medical, dental, vision)
  • Disability and group term life insurance
  • Health and flexible spending accounts
  • Utilization bonus
  • 401(k) with match
  • Flexible time off for salaried employees
  • Parental leave for salaried employees
  • Flexible work arrangements
