Principal Cloud Developer - Virtualization

• Virtualization infrastructure software development
• Lead in designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting software systems
• Partner with architects and engineering leadership to develop and deliver competitive roadmaps
• Assist customer issues as needed, provide RCA insights and help ensure technical standards and documentation requirements are met
• Stay updated on industry trends and technology changes to drive innovation into the business
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operational teams to understand customer needs and recommend solutions
• Learn about operational challenges faced by engineering teams and assist in developing risk-mitigating strategies to address them
• Set an example for and mentor junior engineering talent and represent engineering teams in various technical forums

• Subject matter expert in virtualization or container infrastructure technologies such as KVM, libvirt, QEMU, Kubernetes, Docker and Podman
• Deep expertise in Java, Groovy, and/or other object-oriented languages (Ruby or Python experience is a plus)
• Deep expertise developing for compute, storage or networking products and solutions
• Deep expertise developing for and debugging in Linux kernel/OS environments
• Experience with storage infrastructure technologies such as Ceph, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, GFS2 or similar
• Experience in advanced virtualization topics such as live migration, snapshots, hot swapping, memory management and vCPU scheduling
• Experience in virtual networking topics such as virtual bridges, SR-IOV, VLANs and Open vSwitch
• Experience in security topics such as TPMs, SELinux, encryption and access controls
• Expert in build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and other automation technologies
• Eagerness to learn and apply cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• Strong communication skills
• Take complete ownership of projects and mistakes
• Thrive in Agile-based software development lifecycles
• Know distributed system architecture and clustering design principles
• Strong history of translating product requirements into technical tasks
• Strong history of identifying areas for product improvements
• History of innovation with multiple patents and/or successful deployed software solutions
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ Years of experience developing software and delivering solutions at scale
