Capital One’s Card Core Customer Data Management team is responsible for managing and monitoring controls for all Customer Data. This team is an instrumental part of the Credit Card Core Platform to ensure that all data is accurate before cascading to other teams. We are seeking a highly detail oriented Project Manager that is passionate about risk and control management. You’ll be partnering closely with members of our tech teams, such as Data Analysts, as well as upstream and downstream partners.
Job Responsibility:
Overseeing the project management lifecycle for control-related initiatives, ensuring timely execution, clear communication, and adherence to quality standards
Solving complex problems and consulting on new capabilities by leveraging your payments subject matter expertise
Partnering with Risk Management to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks involving data management and data movement system
Collaborating with Product Management and Technology teams to integrate effective controls into the design and development of new and existing payment features
Driving the implementation of preventive controls to minimize risk events and improve operational efficiency
Supporting end to end testing of controls
Performing proper planning to execute the required test process steps by established deadlines with minimal supervision
Assessing Operational and Design Effectiveness of automated/hybrid/manual controls in adherence with enterprise standards and internal requirements for control testing
Creating and maintaining adequate testing support documentation such as BRDs, rationale, and finding/issues reports
Learn/perform code reviews in support of automated/hybrid controls
Identifying internal control weaknesses and recommending remediation to strengthen the control environment
Learn/perform Quality Assurance reviews of completed test workbooks and results
Supporting process documentation creation and revision
Conducting research to determine root cause for system and process breakdowns and identifying sustainable enhancements
Drive projects based on defined priorities
ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met
identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed
Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
Identifying areas for process improvement and executing on the Well Managed agenda within US Card to drive sustainability, automation, enable ownership, and strengthen the control ecosystem
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 3 Years of Project or Process Management experience
At least 2 year of experience in Risk Controls or Auditing
At least 1 year of experience with Excel or Google Sheets
Nice to have:
Masters degree or MBA
3+ years of experience in Project Management
2+ years of Technology Project Delivery experience
2+ years of experience in Risk Controls or Auditing
3+ years of Financial Services industry experience
3+ years of regulatory compliance or credit experience
1+ years of experience using Snowflake or Databricks
1+ years of experience with SQL and/or Python
1+ years of Jira experience
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
