Job Description:

As the Principal Systems Architect, you will lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-impact consumer fintech platforms that power digital banking experiences, co-branded credit cards, embedded finance, and personalized financial tools. This role is central to T-Mobile’s broader fintech strategy, connecting millions of customers to smarter, flawless ways to manage and access money—across mobile, web, and in-store channels.

Job Responsibility:

  • Architect consumer-facing financial solutions including digital bank accounts, savings and checking tools, co-branded credit card products, and embedded finance capabilities
  • Define and maintain architectural standards for integration with BaaS providers, card issuers/processors, KYC/AML vendors, and payment networks
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to build intuitive and secure financial experiences for mobile-first consumers
  • Lead technology evaluations for third-party fintech partners covering card issuance, core banking platforms, data aggregation, and personal finance management
  • Ensure secure architecture and data design for customer onboarding, credit decisioning, account servicing, and financial transactions
  • Champion privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance across consumer facing FinTech platforms
  • Implement scalable API architectures for money movement, card management, account funding, and transaction data enrichment
  • Provide architectural oversight for loyalty integrations, rewards platforms, and customer engagement engines tied to credit and banking products
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to test emerging fintech capabilities
  • Maintain system documentation, architecture blueprints, and technical standards to guide development and cross-team partnerships
  • Act as a strategic advisor on Fin Tech trends and platform roadmaps

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in financial services, FinTech, or digital banking environments with customer-facing product delivery
  • 7-10 years of experience in enterprise systems architecture, software engineering, or infrastructure design at scale
  • 5+ years of experience crafting or integrating consumer banking platforms, credit card issuance systems, or BaaS platforms
  • 5+ years of experience working with KYC/AML vendors, fraud prevention tools, or financial data aggregators
  • 4-7 years of experience in mobile and web application architecture for financial products
  • 4-7 years of experience crafting compliant FinTech systems within the framework of PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other regulatory obligations
  • 4-7 years of experience with cloud-native development, containerization, and API-first ecosystems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications such as AWS Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, or fintech/banking-specific credentials are desirable
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
