Job Description:

Wells Fargo Consumer Technology Architecture & Engineering team is looking for a Principal Architect who is passionate about driving architecture and strategy for Credit Cards. The Consumer Technology group plays a major role in influencing and defining the firm wide technology strategy and direction.

Job Responsibility:

Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise
Translate advanced technology experience and business objectives into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise
Establish and drive target state architecture for Credit Cards
Define the target state architecture vision with forward looking Architecture principals
Define an architecture roadmap to realize target state
Rationalize applications and domains in Consumer Technology with Enterprise solutions
Drive efforts to ensure resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance of architecture solutions
Contribute to NFR requirements and drive strategies to uphold NFR's through automation

Requirements:

7+ years of architect experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
7+ years of architectural design and planning experience
4+ years of Credit Cards domain and architectural concepts and elements of a modern technology stack
4+ years of financial services experience
5+ years of experience creating data strategies, target state and roadmaps
3+ years of experience with architecting solutions using leading vendor solutions and in house developed systems

Nice to have:

Experience consulting, influencing and partnering with business executives, leadership, human resources partners and peers
Certification is preferred in at least one of AWS/Google/Microsoft public cloud vendors
Experience in Solution Architecture and one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, or architecture planning
Knowledge and understanding of applications technology management role including managing applications development and support for multiple systems and business functions
Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
Experience with a customer service mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
Knowledge and understanding of Credit Cards domain
Experience with Redhat Openshift or other cloud computing technologies
Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain
The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification highly preferred
