Job Description:

As a Principal Application Engineer, you will be crucial in pre-sales technical engagements, leveraging your deep industry and technical expertise to support revenue goals and drive customer success. Collaborating closely with Account Managers and the expanded Solution Engineering Team, you will develop and execute technical strategies tailored to customer needs, ensuring alignment with Bentley's solutions and vision. Your primary focus will be on influencing technical roadmaps, guiding solution fit assessments, and facilitating closures of sales opportunities through technical validation and solution architecture development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver tailored presentations to showcase Bentley solutions to potential clients
  • Collaborate with product teams to tailor solutions for individual customer needs
  • Lead proof of concept projects to demonstrate Bentley solutions' effectiveness
  • Assist in preparing technical proposals and RFP responses
  • Provide technical training for sales teams, partners, and customers
  • Stay updated on industry trends and share insights to drive innovation
  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Work closely with internal teams to align technical strategies with business goals
  • Offer expert guidance on technical best practices and implementation strategies
  • Conduct solution demonstrations
  • Analyze Bentley Solutions' strengths and weaknesses against competitors
  • Develop technical collateral to support sales and marketing efforts
  • Enhance technical expertise through training and industry participation

Requirements:

  • ME/MTech, MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 15-20 years of industry experience in structural engineering consulting and design
  • Strong project design lifecycle management skills
  • Deep familiarity with Bentley Systems solutions (STAAD, RAM)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Nice to have:

Additional experience in solution selling or technical sales is a plus
