Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Principal Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, accounting operations, and leadership, with the ability to streamline processes and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring journal entries are accurate and supported while adhering to established timelines
  • Conduct detailed reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Maintain and enhance the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and related subledgers, ensuring alignment with organizational policies
  • Collaborate with FP&A and leadership to perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial results
  • Partner with accounting staff to review their work, offer constructive feedback, and promote best practices in accounting processes
  • Support audits by preparing required documentation and addressing inquiries from auditors
  • Optimize the use of accounting systems and tools such as Great Plains, FloQast, Stampli, Avalara, and ReQlogic to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Research and implement improvements in reconciliation methodologies, accounting policies, and close documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements while identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Extensive experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Great Plains, FloQast, Stampli, Avalara, and ReQlogic
  • Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with cross-functional teams
  • Experience supporting audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
