justteachers is recruiting a dedicated and creative Year 2 Teacher for a charming primary school in Market Harborough. This is a pivotal role as you support pupils through their final year of Key Stage 1, focusing on building their independence and preparing them for the transition to KS2. The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver a balanced and exciting curriculum with a strong emphasis on phonics, literacy, and numeracy.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead a Year 2 class, planning and delivering lessons that are differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for pupils from the KS1 environment into the expectations of KS2.
  • Maintain detailed records of pupil progress, using data to inform future planning and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture where every child feels safe and motivated.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers through regular communication and formal parents’ evenings.

Requirements

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with a strong understanding of SATs preparation.
  • In-depth knowledge of phonics frameworks (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).
  • A warm, approachable personality with high expectations for student achievement.
  • Two professional references from previous educational roles.
