Job Description

In this role, you aren't just an assistant; you are a vital support system. You will collaborate with teachers to build an inclusive classroom where children aged 4-11 feel safe to learn and grow. Your work helps bridge the gap for students who need that extra bit of attention to succeed.

Job Responsibility

  • Academic Support: Deliver lessons in partnership with the teacher, focusing on 1:1 interventions and leading small-group activities
  • Inclusion & SEN: Actively support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the resources and care needed to participate
  • Classroom Logistics: Help maintain a positive atmosphere through effective behavior management and by preparing teaching materials
  • Student Well-being: Assist with the personal care and general welfare of students, acting as a supportive role model
  • School Liaison: Coordinate with parents and school staff to ensure every child's development is tracked and supported

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous work with children (school, nursery, or childcare settings)
  • Skills: Strong behavior management abilities and the capacity to adapt to various learning needs
  • Academics: GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Safety: A total commitment to safeguarding, requiring an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one)
  • Mindset: A proactive, patient, and caring attitude
