Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Crawley, West Sussex.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning and development
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing behaviour effectively
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources to support lesson plans
  • Support the teacher with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and organising classroom activities
  • Supervise students during break times, lunchtimes, and other activities as required
  • Work with students with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure they receive the appropriate support and guidance

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children
  • Willingness to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
