Job Description

Join our local primary network as a Primary Teaching Assistant and help create a vibrant, engaging learning environment for every pupil. You will support the Class Teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and ensuring no child is left behind. Work across the whole class, leading small groups in phonics, reading, or maths to boost confidence and attainment. This is the perfect springboard for aspiring Primary Teachers (PGCE/School Direct) or those looking to gain formal classroom experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead 'breakout' sessions to support pupils who need an extra boost in core subjects like English and Maths
  • Assist the teacher in preparing resources, creating displays, and managing classroom behaviour to maintain a positive learning atmosphere
  • Assist with the social and emotional development of students, helping them build resilience and teamwork skills
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher to track pupil progress and ensure a safe, inclusive, and high-energy learning environment

Requirements

  • Proactive & Energetic
  • Relevant Experience (school, youth club, coaching, or any setting where you have mentored or led young people)
  • Academically Confident (strong grasp of the primary curriculum and ability to explain concepts)
  • Committed (holds an enhanced DBS or willing to apply, 100% dedicated to Safeguarding and child welfare)
