Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at a local school in Cornwall. This role is integral to supporting our school's mission to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will work within the Additional Resource Base (ARB), providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs, ensuring they access the curriculum alongside their peers. This is a full-time position, with the potential to split the role between two individuals for the right candidates, starting at a mutually agreed date. The ideal candidate will embody our values of respect, collaboration, and a commitment to personalised learning.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs within the Additional Resource Base (ARB)
  • Assist class teachers in delivering personalised learning activities
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and behavioural skills
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Support the implementation of behavioural and pastoral strategies
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies
  • Promote pupils' wellbeing and inclusion
  • Assist with classroom organisation and resources

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with additional needs

  • Ability to monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
