Job Description:

Randstad Education is working closely with local primary schools who are now focusing all Teaching Assistant (TA) support on providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs. This rewarding role involves helping children overcome learning and behavioural challenges, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Speech and Language Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Behavioural Challenges
  • Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to tailor learning strategies, monitor progress, and ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Enhanced Child DBS
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
  • Relevant experience with SEN is highly desirable

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
  • Confidence supporting children with SEN or behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to individual student needs
