Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS) to join our partner Primary School based in Berkhamsted for a long-term placement starting in September 2026. This dedicated school supports pupils through their crucial developmental milestones, focusing heavily on core literacy, numeracy confidence, and social-emotional growth. We are looking for an educational leader who sees individual potential, designs highly engaging learning pathways, and fosters an environment where every student can achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Bespoke Curriculum Design: Plan, differentiate, and deliver high-impact lessons tailored to the specific learning paces and needs of your pupils, aligning strictly with the primary National Curriculum framework
  • Core Subject Mastery: Seamlessly incorporate engaging reading strategies, creative writing focus, and mastery-approach mathematical concepts into your daily teaching
  • Classroom Team Leadership: Direct, inspire, and manage a dedicated team of classroom Teaching Assistants within your room, ensuring a coordinated, safe, and positive approach to learning and behaviour support
  • Holistic Assessment: Utilise primary assessment frameworks and regular formative trackers to accurately monitor, record, and celebrate pupil progress
  • Phase Team Liaison: Collaborate regularly with year-group colleagues, early years practitioners, or Key Stage leaders to ensure consistent development and smooth year-to-year transitions
  • Parental Partnerships: Maintain sensitive, transparent, and encouraging communication with parents and carers, establishing a consistent network of support

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A proven track record of teaching within a UK primary school setting (open to EYFS, KS1, or KS2 specialists). Both seasoned practitioners and exceptional Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome
  • Specialist Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of adaptive teaching pedagogy, age-appropriate curriculum milestones, and positive behaviour management strategies
  • Emotional Resilience: A calm, grounded, and patient demeanour, with the ability to lead a classroom confidently during periods of high student energy or learning anxieties
  • Collaborative Spirit: A genuine desire to work as part of a highly unified, school-wide team that puts the holistic well-being of the child first
  • Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
  • Teaching experience
