Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This full-time position is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about child development, learning, behaviour, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs within the classroom
  • Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Assisting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement in learning
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

Requirements

  • A Psychology degree from a UK university
  • A strong understanding of child development and behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting children
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A proactive, patient, and professional attitude

Nice to have

Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs
