Job Responsibility:
Bespoke Lesson Delivery: Adapt the Primary curriculum into sensory stories, practical 'Life Skills' sessions, and play-based learning that aligns with each student's EHCP targets
Communication Leadership: Utilise total communication environments-incorporating Makaton, PECS, and Colourful Semantics-to ensure every child can express themselves
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physios to integrate therapeutic goals into the daily school routine
Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of LSAs/TAs, ensuring a consistent and 'low-arousal' approach to classroom and behaviour management
Requirements:
Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience within a Primary setting (EYFS/KS1/KS2)
Are a SEND Advocate: genuine interest in or experience with Autism (ASC), PMLD, SLD, or SEMH, and a belief in the 'unlimited potential' of every child
Are Highly Adaptable: can pivot lesson plan in seconds to meet the emotional or sensory needs of students
Are Committed: hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
