As a Primary SEND Teacher, you are responsible for creating a nurturing, structured, and safe world where foundational learning can take place.
Job Responsibility
Bespoke Lesson Delivery: Adapt the Primary curriculum into sensory stories, practical Life Skills sessions, and play-based learning that aligns with each student's EHCP targets
Communication Leadership: Utilise total communication environments incorporating Makaton, PECS, and Colourful Semantics
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physios
Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of LSAs/TAs
Requirements
Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience within a Primary setting (EYFS/KS1/KS2)
Are a SEND Advocate: genuine interest in or experience with Autism (ASC), PMLD, SLD, or SEMH
Are Highly Adaptable: can pivot lesson plan in seconds to meet the emotional or sensory needs of students
Are Committed: hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
