Job Responsibility

  • Bespoke Lesson Delivery: Adapt the Primary curriculum into sensory stories, practical 'Life Skills' sessions, and play-based learning that aligns with each student's EHCP targets
  • Communication Leadership: Utilise total communication environments-incorporating Makaton, PECS, and Colourful Semantics-to ensure every child can express themselves
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physios to integrate therapeutic goals into the daily school routine
  • Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of LSAs/TAs, ensuring a consistent and 'low-arousal' approach to classroom and behaviour management

Requirements

  • Hold QTS
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience within a Primary setting (EYFS/KS1/KS2)
  • A genuine interest in or experience with Autism (ASC), PMLD, SLD, or SEMH, and a belief in the 'unlimited potential' of every child
  • Highly Adaptable
  • You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
