Job Description:

A well-regarded Infant and Junior School in the Borough of Greenwich is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a term-time only, full-time role paid on a daily rate. The role involves supporting children with special educational needs across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and lower Key Stage 2 (KS2). Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and group support, assisting with EHCP targets, promoting positive classroom environments, and engaging closely with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.

Job Responsibility:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
Assisting with EHCP targets and adapting activities to suit individual needs
Supporting class teachers in managing behaviour and promoting engagement
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Liaising with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals when needed
Supporting children with SEN across EYFS, KS1 and lower KS2
Working closely with class teachers and SEN team

Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting
Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with young children
Able to follow support plans and use your initiative
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
