Job Description:

Primary SEN Teaching Assistant | 1:1 Developmental Support. A Career Built on Impact, Not Just Supervision. The early years of education are the most critical for children with Additional Needs (SEND). We are seeking dedicated 1:1 Support Assistants to work within EYFS, KS1, and KS2 settings. This role is perfect for those passionate about Autism (ASD), Speech and Language delays, and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).

Job Responsibility:

  • Tailored 1:1 Support using 'Now & Next' boards and sensory breaks
  • Developmental Coaching to facilitate social interaction and communication skills during play-based activities and phonics sessions
  • Collaborative Reporting with SENCO, class teachers, and external therapists to track milestones and adjust support strategies
  • Holistic Wellbeing by providing a safe, dignified environment, assisting with personal care or mobility needs where required

Requirements:

  • Naturally patient
  • Person-first approach
  • Relevant experience from a nursery, healthcare setting, or personal lived experience with SEND
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • 100% dedicated to Safeguarding

Nice to have:

  • Specialised Clinical Experience for careers in Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, or Paediatric Nursing
  • Experience with EHCP implementation, PECS, and sensory regulation
  • Ability to track progression in attainment
