Job Description:

Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant – Day-to-day supply starting as soon as possible. These flexible opportunities are ideal for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll work with a range of schools in Hounslow and surrounding areas, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to help them thrive in a positive learning environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised plans
  • Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning activities
  • Promote a calm and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and report pupil progress and well-being

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a primary setting
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic about making a difference
