St. John's International School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered Primary School Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant international learning community. Job Responsibility
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and educational philosophy, promoting high levels of student achievement and engagement
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, emotional, and personal development
Assess, monitor, and document student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies, providing timely and meaningful feedback
Develop and implement learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and independent learning skills
Build strong partnerships with parents and guardians through regular communication, progress reporting, and participation in parent meetings and school events
Collaborate effectively with grade-level colleagues, specialist teachers, learning support staff, and school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational experience
Contribute actively to curriculum development, professional learning initiatives, extracurricular activities, and the wider life of the school community
Uphold the school's safeguarding, well-being, and child protection policies, while promoting the school's values, mission, and commitment to international-mindedness
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education (or related field) and a recognized teaching qualification
Proven experience teaching in a primary/elementary school setting, preferably within an international school environment
Strong understanding of child development and evidence-based teaching and learning practices
Ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered classroom that supports diverse learning needs
Experience with inquiry-based learning approaches
IB PYP experience is highly desirable
Excellent classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Commitment to safeguarding, student well-being, and fostering a positive learning culture
Collaborative, adaptable, culturally aware, and reflective professional with excellent organizational skills and fluency in English
