Job Description

The British School in Madrid is seeking an adaptable, committed, and enthusiastic Primary Cover Teacher to join our team with immediate start. This role is ideal for a flexible, skilled practitioner who can confidently deliver high-quality learning across different year groups within the Primary School.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum
  • Provide high-quality cover across EYFS and Primary year groups as required
  • Ensure continuity of learning through clear planning, feedback, and classroom management
  • Support the pastoral needs and wellbeing of pupils
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive learning environment
  • Uphold all school policies, including safeguarding and professional standards
  • Support wider school duties as part of the Primary team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in a British curriculum Primary setting and high level of English
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to adapt teaching across age groups
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils
