Job Description

An excellent SEN school in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support within their Primary provision from September 2026. The role involves working closely with a young pupil requiring additional support with communication, emotional development and early learning skills. This setting provides a nurturing and structured environment for children with complex needs and Autism, focusing heavily on sensory learning and early developmental support.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support within an EYFS classroom
  • Assist with speech, communication and sensory-based activities
  • Support personal care where required
  • Encourage social interaction and emotional development
  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Follow EHCP targets and support learning through play-based activities
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children within EYFS or SEN settings
  • Knowledge of Autism and early childhood development
  • Calm, patient and adaptable nature
  • Comfortable supporting sensory and personal care needs
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
