Job Description

My client is looking for someone to take accountability of price trading decisions in the Private Car Wholesale team as a Pricing Trading Lead. This role is dedicated to support the growth of a newly created team. This is a commercial pricing role with significant autonomy as you'll be responsible for making and guiding pricing decisions to maximise profitability and growth, while working closely with senior leaders in pricing and wholesale.

Job Responsibility

  • Own pricing performance for the Private Car Wholesale product (sales, loss ratios, renewals, competitor activity)
  • Make daily pricing decisions and recommend larger strategic changes
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing to stay competitive
  • Develop and improve pricing models, working with Actuarial and Data Science teams
  • Balance technical insight with commercial judgement to optimise results
  • Drive strategic plans to improve profitability and grow market share
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. GIPP)

Requirements

  • 4+ years in General Insurance (GI) Pricing (ideally UK motor)
  • Strong knowledge of: GLMs, statistical modelling, machine learning
  • Tools like RADAR, SQL, Python
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful pricing changes
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and challenge existing approaches
  • Experience mentoring others is a plus
