As the founding leader of the U.S. Contracts & Pricing Execution organization in Amgen India, this role will establish the operational foundation for supporting critical U.S. commercial pricing and payment processes. The Director will build and scale a high-performing team responsible for executing key revenue management activities, including Medicaid and Government Pricing processing, chargebacks, commercial rebate payments, channel fee payment operations, and support for revenue management platforms such as Model N. This leader will play a key role in strengthening operational capabilities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, and enabling scalable support for Amgen’s growing U.S. commercial business.
Job Responsibility
Own end-to-end execution of U.S. commercial pricing and payment operations performed in India, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all deliverables
Provide leadership and oversight for the operational execution of pricing and rebate programs, including commercial rebate payments, chargebacks processing, Medicaid and Government Pricing processing, and channel fee payment operations that support U.S. commercial revenue management
Lead execution of contractually governed and government-impacted commercial processes under tight execution, payment, and reporting timelines with downstream financial reporting impact
Drive consistent delivery against defined service levels and quality standards in a highly accountable, deadline-driven environment
Establish and monitor operational KPIs, performance metrics, and management reporting to ensure transparency and accountability
Provide leadership oversight for revenue management systems supporting U.S. commercial pricing execution, payment processing, and government price calculations, ensuring data integrity, process discipline, and reliable system performance
Provide governance and operational leadership for revenue management systems, including Model N, supporting pricing execution, chargebacks processing, commercial rebate payments, Medicaid and Government Pricing processing, and channel fee payment operations
Partner with IS and business stakeholders to support system enhancements, defect resolution, upgrades, and process stabilization
Ensure revenue management systems are operated with appropriate governance, documentation, and auditability standards
Own and maintain SOX-controlled processes associated with pricing and payment execution, including process documentation, evidence standards, certifications, and audit support
Work in close alignment with U.S. Contracts & Pricing Execution (CPE) leadership, and partner with Finance, Compliance, Legal, and Corporate Audit to ensure ongoing audit readiness and timely remediation of issues
Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risks while maintaining delivery commitments
Act as a trusted execution partner to U.S. commercial, finance, and value & access stakeholders
Communicate operational performance, risks, and trade-offs clearly to senior audiences
Establish clear governance models, operating rhythms, escalation paths, and handoffs between U.S. and India teams
Build and scale the Contracts & Pricing Execution organization in Amgen India, including defining the team structure, operating model, and capabilities aligned with U.S. CPE priorities
Hire, develop, and lead high-performing managers and operational teams responsible for delivering pricing and payment execution services
Define clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability models aligned with U.S. CPE leadership expectations
Foster a culture of execution excellence, attention to detail, ownership, and continuous improvement aligned with Amgen Values
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, contracts, pricing, finance, accounting, or related operational roles within a U.S. pharmaceutical or biotech environment
8+ years of people leadership experience, including direct management of managers, teams, or complex operational portfolios
Nice to have
Experience supporting U.S. pharmaceutical commercial operations in a regulated or highly controlled environment
Strong experience supporting U.S. pharmaceutical Gross-to-Net operations, including Medicaid and commercial rebates, chargebacks, channel fee processing and reporting, and Government Pricing execution
Hands-on experience with revenue management systems, including Model N or similar pharmaceutical pricing platforms
Strong working knowledge of SOX controls, internal control frameworks, and audit requirements
Proven ability to lead teams accountable for end-to-end process ownership under tight deadlines
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts and findings to senior audiences
Experience building and scaling India-based or offshore teams supporting U.S. stakeholders
Ability to identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the team
