Are you a GI expert with a passion for pricing? Are you data-driven with proven experience of working with large data sources? Looking for a genuine growth opportunity within a global insurer? Then Star Actuarial is currently representing the ideal role for you. In this agile and varied role, you will draw on your knowledge and expertise to develop and implement improvements to our client's premium rating models which enables the successful delivery of its strategy. A key element of this will be analysing quote, policy, exposure, claims and other datasets to identify improvements and you will have the opportunity to present and contribute to Pricing & Trading meetings. You will also report on the status of project work to support product and pricing development while coordinating the delivery of technical projects to improve underwriting performance against technical modelling standards and data controls. Utilising your communication, people management and emotional intelligence skills, you will additionally assist with coaching and developing other colleagues within the team to ensure constant up-skilling.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement improvements to premium rating models
  • Analyse quote, policy, exposure, claims and other datasets to identify improvements
  • Present and contribute to Pricing & Trading meetings
  • Report on the status of project work to support product and pricing development
  • Coordinate the delivery of technical projects to improve underwriting performance
  • Assist with coaching and developing other colleagues within the team

Requirements

  • Experience working in a personal lines pricing environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Radar software, particularly in regard to building projects in Radar Base or Live
  • Proven experience in working with large data sources
  • Good command of SQL, Python, Databricks, SAS or similar coding languages
