The department of Public Buildings is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Preventative Maintenance Technician to implement the preventive maintenance program for the utility systems in school and city public buildings, including but not limited to building interior and exterior heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, steam, condensate, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems.
Job Responsibility:
Implement the preventive maintenance program for the utility systems in school and city public buildings, including but not limited to building interior and exterior heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, steam, condensate, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems
Must be available to respond to emergencies after hours
Requirements:
High school diploma plus elementary technical training acquired on the job or through one year or less of technical school
a minimum of four years of building trades maintenance and/or construction work experience
or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Ability to communicate orally and in writing and interact with diverse groups with tact
Massachusetts Class D driver’s license required with a good driving history
Must have a thorough working knowledge of building trades maintenance processes and procedures
