An exciting opportunity has become available to become a Prevent Case Management Officer based in Plymouth. This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week. The role will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting the department with neighbourhood policing and communities.
Job Responsibility:
Case Management: To be responsible for accurately recording Prevent referrals including case management action or decisions on the Prevent Case Management Tracker (PCMT) and applying the screening and triage process known as the Prevent Gateway Assessment (PGA)
To use a combination of information from various sources to generate a developed assessment on the nature & extent of the identified individual’s vulnerability and risk, to decide upon the appropriate outcome
To be responsible for the initial completion and subsequent updates to the individual’s Prevent Assessment Framework (PAF) and provide regular updates to the Channel panel on the case’s potential risks in relation to any terrorism related activity
To attend all Channel Panels and fulfil the Police role as statutory partner as CT Subject Matter Expert, disclosing police held intelligence necessary to make effective risk management decisions
To attend Police Led Panel meetings where their cases are being discussed, create agendas and compile all other documentation required, disseminating any other appropriate information to relevant partners
To ensure that all relevant information is accurately recorded on relevant systems and in accordance with guidance. To record decisions mitigating vulnerabilities and CT risk as well as evidencing that management options have been exhausted
Reassess the Case Management Plans as frequently as required based on risk and on receipt of intelligence which represents a change to the circumstances of the case
To monitor local policing Prevent relevant issues including a wide range of police incidents that are relevant in informing the Intelligence picture
Engagement: To identify, engage and maintain relationships with key individuals, institutions and groups within the community to promote and support the delivery of Prevent at a local and national level
To support police and partners with targeted engagement in order to help improve their processes and increase the quantity and quality of referrals into Prevent
To work with police and partners to assess and monitor community tensions particularly after executive actions and CT consequence management as directed by a Supervisor
Disruptive Activity: Disrupt extremist activity by using problem solving approaches and activities. This will include with partners to utilise their unique powers to disrupt and deter persons believed to be extremists, including events which support or promote extremism
Support CT Operations by acting as a Prevent subject matter expert and providing a holistic approach to risk management. This includes engagement in a wide range of Prevent settings to inform an appropriate response
Policing Support: To provide support in the production of Counter-Terrorism Local Profiles (CTLP) and assist partners with action plan development and the delivery of objectives and activities outlined
Requirements:
Hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post
Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required
Access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis
