Heart of Maine United Way (HoMEUW) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven President & CEO to lead the organization into its next chapter of impact, growth, and community leadership. This is an opportunity to step into a well-positioned organization with strong momentum, a committed Board, a talented leadership team, and a bold vision for the future. The next CEO will build on successful fundraising efforts, continue to diversify revenue, and strengthen HoMEUW’s role as a trusted community leader and convener across Eastern Maine.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the execution of HoMEUW’s strategic plan and Opportunity 2028 Bold Goals
  • Serve as a lead ambassador for HoMEUW, cultivating relationships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and public leaders
  • Maintain a personal portfolio of key donors and play a primary role in major gift cultivation and solicitation
  • Partner closely with the Board of Directors on strategy, governance, and fundraising leadership
  • Lead, develop and support a high-performing team aligned with HoMEUW’s goals and strategic direction
  • Ensure strong financial stewardship, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness

Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of senior leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit, philanthropic, or community-based organizations
  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit management, fundraising, revenue diversification and financial oversight
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong strategic, financial, and operational acumen
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
  • Bachelor degree
