Job Description:

We seek a caring, experienced preschool teacher who is passionate about early education and committed to modeling Christian values in the classroom. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a love for children and a desire to integrate faith and learning throughout the day.

Job Responsibility:

  • planning and implementing the daily routines of the preschool room
  • engaging preschoolers in developmental activities
  • supervising the assistants
  • ensuring the safety of the preschoolers
  • contributing to the child's healthy mental and emotional development so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education
  • review and approve timecards for assistants
  • greets children and parents/guardians professionally and enthusiastically daily
  • maintains a happy, sanitary, and relaxed preschool environment by following daily procedures and routines
  • plans individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills
  • works closely with the Director in a team teaching atmosphere and regularly shares pertinent information, suggestions, and ideas
  • interacts with children through instructional methods, including play, music, arts and crafts, and physical activities
  • develops and maintains a positive and confidential relationship with the parents of every child
  • prepares and executes nap time routine to create a relaxing preschool environment
  • maintains written documentation of each child's daily activities via Procare to parents/guardians
  • communicates with parents/guardians regarding the special needs of preschoolers
  • attends parent/guardian, staff and conference meetings as scheduled
  • participates in required training programs, conferences, courses, or other aspects of professional growth
  • works alongside and delegates responsibilities among assistants in completing essential duties, procedures, and routines of the preschool room
  • ensures that assistants follow the work schedule, reviews and approves their timecards
  • promotes and fosters each preschooler's positive self-esteem and individual development toward their fullest potential
  • ensures all child care supplies are sufficient and reports any additional supplies to the Director
  • reports any injuries, suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the appropriate party for follow-through
  • adheres to all established policies, procedures, and code of ethics
  • maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, co-workers, and parents / guardians
  • provide daily guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and classroom aides
  • ensuring compliance with all government licensing and regulatory requirements for the program
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with licensing agencies and be the primary contact for audits or inspections
  • lead efforts to recruit, enroll, and retain children in the program through outreach, engagement, and family relationship-building strategies
  • oversee staff scheduling to ensure adequate classroom coverage and efficient daily operations
