Job Description:

The Presales Engineer – Energy Solutions will play a critical role in driving business growth by supporting the technical aspects of the sales process for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Photovoltaic (PV) systems. This includes designing solutions, preparing proposals, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating closely with the sales team to convert opportunities into successful projects. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of energy storage and solar technologies and can communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for BESS and PV opportunities, including grid-tied and off-grid solutions
  • Analyze client energy profiles, load curves, and site conditions to determine optimal system configuration
  • Participate in customer meetings to present technical solutions and answer engineering-related queries
  • Design energy systems using tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD or similar
  • Size BESS and PV systems according to customer requirements, application (e.g., peak shaving, backup, self-consumption), and grid standards
  • Create technical documentation, system layouts, and schematics for proposals
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and energy simulations
  • Support accurate cost estimation in collaboration with procurement and engineering teams
  • Provide input for tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and commercial bids
  • Liaise with product managers, EPC contractors, OEMs, and internal engineering teams
  • Work closely with the sales team to align solution design with customer budgets and technical constraints
  • Support transition from pre-sales to execution by handing off detailed technical documentation
  • Stay updated on the latest energy storage and PV technologies, standards, and incentives
  • Understand local regulations, grid codes, and interconnection requirements
  • Evaluate product specifications and vendor offerings to recommend optimal system components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or a related field
  • Experience in a similar presales, applications engineering, or system design role within the energy sector
  • Strong understanding of BESS use cases (e.g., frequency regulation, demand charge management, backup power) and PV system design
  • Proficiency in design and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Familiarity with key components: inverters, batteries (Li-ion, LFP, etc.), PCS, EMS, MPPT systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree in Renewable Energy or Power Systems Engineering
  • Experience in hybrid systems (PV + BESS + DG), microgrids, or off-grid electrification
  • Experience with grid interconnection processes and permitting
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions
  • Organized and detail-oriented with good time management
  • Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Other languages a plus
