Job Description:

The Prep Cook/Dishwasher plays a vital role in our kitchen by ensuring that both food preparation and dishwashing operations run smoothly. This dual-role position requires strong knife skills, basic culinary acumen, and the ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prep Cook Responsibilities: Chop, dice, sort, and prepare all necessary ingredients for the line
  • Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and control costs
  • Maintain food quality and 100% customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Dishwasher Responsibilities: Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and silverware
  • Assist in cleaning the kitchen at the end of the shift, including sweeping and mopping floors
  • Take out trash and rinse garbage cans nightly
  • Unload and store deliveries properly
  • Respond to requests from FOH staff, particularly during high-volume periods

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours)
  • Possess a high degree of attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Must have knife skills
  • Understand food handling and workplace safety
  • Able to withstand extreme temperatures for up to 30 minutes (0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Able to carry up to 50 lbs. up to 100 feet
  • Able to understand and respond to employee and guest verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment
