PreOp/PACU RNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. PreOp/PACU RNs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Job Responsibility:
Providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases
Ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery
Maintaining a professional approach while providing nursing care
Keeping patients and their families informed
Working directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op
Providing continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition
Providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate
Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation
Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Active RN license in the state New Jersey
BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
