Job Description

The Pre-Construction Coordinator will contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of tasks in the utility sector, ensuring seamless service integration at the start of each development. This role is integral to managing and coordinating the early stages of project development, from initial planning to approval. It requires an organised, proactive individual who will serve as the main point of contact for utility-related aspects and client requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Utility Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for client queries
  • Project Planning: Support pre-construction schedules and track key milestones
  • Budgeting & Estimation: Collaborate with estimators and designers to ensure budget accuracy
  • Documentation Management: Maintain updated records of utility agreements and perform weekly audits
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with clients, networks, and internal teams during pre-construction
  • Problem Resolution: Address issues impacting project timelines with a 24-hour response window
  • Approval Coordination: Help acquire necessary design approvals
  • Team Collaboration: Ensure construction feasibility with the design and engineering teams
  • Reporting: Provide weekly updates to the Head of Pre-Construction

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in construction coordination within utilities or infrastructure
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of utility processes, including electricity, water, and gas network adoption

  • Completing full quantity take-off and data entry of labor, equipment, and materials
  • Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to aid in establishing project requirements
  • Compile information from daily meetings/activities and communicate to the project team in a clear and organized manner
  • Supports lead estimators in gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect projects (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)
  • Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
  • Participate in project review meetings and site investigations as needed
