Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Practice Nurse to join a friendly and supportive GP Surgery in Ellesmere Port on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Practice Nurse looking for an immediate start, with the potential for ongoing work following the initial 6-week contract.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver routine general practice nursing care to patients attending the surgery
  • Manage chronic disease clinics
  • Provide contraception and sexual health advice
  • Carry out cervical screening (smears)
  • Assess and treat minor illness and minor injuries
  • Deliver travel health advice and vaccinations
  • Administer childhood immunisations
  • Promote health and wellbeing through patient education
  • Undertake routine treatment room duties

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration
  • Previous experience working within a GP Practice
  • Competent in chronic disease management, cervical cytology, immunisations, and treatment room duties
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Available to start ASAP
