A friendly and well-established GP surgery in Beckenham, South London (approximately 8,500 patients) is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join its supportive multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week).
Job Responsibility:
Delivering evidence-based nursing care such as immunisations (including travel vaccines) and cervical screening
Chronic disease management, particularly asthma, COPD and diabetes
Wound care (including ulcer care and Doppler assessments)
Infection prevention and control
Supporting public health and screening programmes
Health promotion and patient education
Working autonomously while contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance, enhanced services, and practice targets (e.g., QOF)
Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web and effective SNOMED CT coding
Supporting frail and housebound patients
Managing chronic disease registers and call/recall systems
Participating in audits and protocol development
Safeguarding responsibilities
Leading public health campaigns (e.g., flu clinics)
Travel health advice
Supporting colleagues and new staff
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (NMC)
Experience in general practice or community nursing
Chronic disease management experience
Experience working autonomously
Knowledge of infection prevention and control
Experience managing elderly and housebound patients
Nice to have:
Experience in quality improvement initiatives
Understanding of the NHS structure, PCNs and commissioning
