IMS Care Center is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Practice Manager for our Audiology clinic located in Glendale. This position will be responsible for leading practice transforming processes to maximize efficiency, revenue and patient and provider satisfaction. The Audiology Practice Manager will be responsible for the workflow and performance of the Division to achieve expert care, excellent customer service and maximal physician and staff productivity. This person will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer regarding strategic planning, development, continuous quality improvement and financial/budget reporting and monitoring. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.
Job Responsibility:
Assume overall responsibility for division employee management and staffing including all providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff
Determine staffing standards based on patient care needs, patient flow, procedures and other clinical needs. Interview, select and hire new employees. Recommend referrals to physicians, medical staff, and other professional services
Tests and diagnoses hearing disorders and recommends treatment methods and devices appropriate to the needs of the patient
Performs basic calibration of clinical audiometer, portable audiometer, impedance equipment, hearing aid testing equipment, and calibration equipment
May assist in planning and conducting training classes in diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders, including therapeutic principles, exercises, techniques and devices for health care professionals, families and others
Maintains records and progress notes detailing diagnosis, treatment and effect on patients
Work with Human Resources to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for clinical and non-clinical staff
Develop policies and procedures for division functions
Coordinate space and room assignments for providers
Support and facilitate referral management process
Identify potential problem areas, develop a system for objectively monitoring performance and creatively seek solutions to foster quality improvement
Continuously optimize staff roles and responsibilities to meet performance goals
Develop and maintain an open effective line of communications with providers and clinical staff
Handles external marketing
Assist with the development of business plans for new programs and other strategic initiatives for the division
Participate in management meetings and participate in strategic planning, proactive interdepartmental problem solving and policy development
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient's privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of patients and or employees
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience managing and running a healthcare facility
Management level experience in a clinical or hospital setting, including, medical insurance, coding and reimbursement
Considerable knowledge of the pathology of hearing and speech disorders
Considerable knowledge of the methods used to detect and correct hearing disorders
Ability to operate audiometric equipment and to interpret the results
Considerable knowledge of instructional methods used in the work
Ability to plan individualized treatment programs and administer therapeutic exercises
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of agency billing and reimbursement regulations
Ability to research and audit physician charges to ensure they are properly processed
Ability to work independently and to be accurate, efficient and organized
Ability to read and comprehend patient account information, insurance explanation of benefits and other financial records
Ability to respond to emergent or stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
Intermediate computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel)
Ability to maintain good working relationships while addressing complex sensitive administrative issues
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
