Job Description:

The PR Manager, UK & Ireland plays a key role in the day‑to‑day operations of the UKI PR Centre of Excellence, supporting PR objectives for participating hotels across the UK and Ireland. Operating similarly to an in‑house PR agency, the COE drives top‑tier earned media and social exposure across consumer travel, lifestyle, trade, and regional media. This role is an active media relations position and supports the development and execution of strategic PR plans for the hotels. The UK media outreach aligns with consumer, brand, and corporate communications priorities in partnership with the Senior Director of Communications, UKI & Nordics, and the wider EMEA Communications team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop ideas and drive press coverage for F&B activations, seasonal offers, partnerships, and destination storytelling
  • Align PR activity with each hotel's business plan and COE Scope of Work
  • Drive cross‑market collaboration with PR COEs in France, Germany, Spain, and Italy to secure UKI coverage for key hotels
  • Support UKI hotels by working with Marriott’s European PR teams to secure international coverage in key feeder markets for UK hotels
  • Serve as first point of contact for UKI hotel media enquiries
  • Ensure timely, accurate responses development media relationships within market
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top‑tier travel, consumer, F&B, lifestyle, trade, business, and regional media
  • Proactively pitch hotel news and secure regular journalist/influencer engagement
  • Organise influencer and journalist hotel and F&B reviews with the PR Executive
  • Work with the other PR Manager within the team to train, guide, and develop the UKI PR Executive
  • Support the Senior Director of Communications, UKI & Nordics and EMEA Director of Issues & Crisis with reactive statements, media handling, and guidance for GMs and regional leaders
  • Manage external agencies (UK, Middle East), reviewing press releases and pitches and joining bi‑weekly hotel/agency calls
  • Oversee development of press releases, fact sheets, bios, round‑ups, and briefing documents
  • Prepare messaging for GM interviews and draft Q&A responses for EMEA Comms review
  • Ensure Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme messaging is included in relevant UKI press materials
  • Track campaign performance against EMEA KPIs and manage media monitoring tools
  • Deliver hotel and area PR recap reports per COE tier level
  • Share stories, case studies, and visuals with EMEA Internal Comms for DLZ distribution

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of PR/ Communications experience, ideally within travel, hospitality, or lifestyle sectors
  • Strong media and influencer relationships in UK lifestyle and travel media
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and launching PR campaigns
  • Budget management, event experience, and prior hotel/brand exposure preferred
  • Strong UK media contacts across travel, lifestyle, luxury and trade
  • Passion for story generation and securing media coverage
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and creative mindset
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with senior leaders and property teams
