Job Description:

BAE Systems is seeking a strategic financial operations leader to join our Space and Mission Systems (SMS) sector as a Director II – Finance, leading the Unified Finance Operations Team (UFO). This key role will drive business outcomes by overseeing and integrating various finance functions, systems, processes, and tools to ensure efficient and effective finance operations. A successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, drive business acumen, provide consistency through efficient process and tools, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to maintain and improve finance systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices
  • Ensure compliance with DFARS 252.234-7002 Earned Value Management System, regulatory requirements, including DFARS, FAR, and CAS, and support audits
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, policies, templates, and guidance to ensure consistency in practice across Finance
  • Oversee system support, upgrades, maintenance, and enhancement of financial systems
  • Sponsor and provide support for tool transformation projects that impact Finance and the enterprise
  • Develop and implement reporting capabilities to support business decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership and direction to a Finance department comprising of multiple teams
  • Foster a culture of continuous development, training, and capability growth
  • Oversee learning and knowledge management across the organization
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design, implement, and communicate a future-state finance organization
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense (A&D) or similar government contracting environment
  • 4+ years of functional management experience
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people and team-building skills
  • Strong financial and business management skills
  • Must be willing and eligible for submission for a security clearance after an offer is accepted
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
