The Power Plant/APU engineer with his/her peers, as a team, shall endorse the key following activities: Powerplant and APU Engineering work scope, Reliability, Technical publications.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure engineering technical follow-up and defect/delay analysis in collaboration with Toulouse (FHS Headquarter), local teams
Develop close relationship with the local teams, align and collaborate on processes and deliverables expected
Produce and share engineering analysis, action plan and technical follow-up within a regular time frame agreed with the local team
Ensure appropriate support for technical issues resolution within mid and long term timeframe and ad hoc short term support for critical event management
Develop close relationship with FHS HQ and their stakeholders in order to escalate critical issues to be further investigated with Customer Support and Airbus Programs
Contribute to the functional organization objectives and be motor in ensuring knowledge, process and methods are capitalized
Ensure regular reporting on his/her different scopes of activity, for achievement, performance and improvement demonstration
Ensure Technical support, if required, with Local Aviation Authorities, EASA and FAA, to meet local regulations and expectations
Contribute to the development and implementation of industrialized processes, methods and tools to improve efficiency and qualitatively the activities performed
Provide engineering assistance to the region on-site engineering team on engine/APU related defect issues when required
Provide technical expertise to validate or trigger engine or APU replacement (oil consumption etc)
Prepare engine or APU accessories work scope for engine shop visit. This includes a list of SB/VSB to be incorporated for an engine during shop visit, and maintenance tasks based on the EMMP
Focal point for supporting engine or APU shop activities and technical related topics for repair shop
Following an Engine or APU shop visit, validate that proposed work scope requested has been performed and analyze Shop finding Reports (SFR) for corrective action performed
Support the yearly/bi-yearly shop performance review with FHS Repair department (technical support) and FHS engineering
Support validation of APU and Engine LRU standard exchanges proposed by shop (with FHS Repair department)
Validate technical work scope with shop if deviating from the baseline, and provide sound recommendations in order to optimize the overall cost of the repair vs the expected technical conditions
Focal point for technical questions related to APU and Engine delease support (Work Scope, APU reliability trend etc), participate in nomination, collection of all shop reports and ensure completeness of shop records including back to birth required
Provide follow up on the health condition of engine and APU based on alerts received from OEM via Engine and APU health monitoring
Perform regular reliability updates on APU and Engine LRU, investigate reliability issues and coordinate with FHS engineering, OEM
Issue monthly APU and Engines reports on health status, removals
Feedback to FHS engineering with baseline adjustment by analysis or from shop advice and participate to the yearly revision of the baseline
Manage database administration during engine or APU induction into the fleet
Manage reliability technical dossier and contact relevant stakeholders as necessary for technical alignment
Analyze reasons for removal on identified components (in volume, vs Guaranteed Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (GMTBUR), vs worldwide fleet Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (MTBUR), No Fault Found (NFF) rate)
Perform technical investigation (using data from aircraft maintenance logs, Maintenance Information System (MIS), aircraft service records and shop finding reports) to determine possible root cause and failure trends as necessary with objective to define/implement available mitigation/solution or drive definition of technical fix
Investigate reliability issues on APU & APU LRU’s and coordinate the investigation with FHS Engineering, Airbus Support & OEM. Perform regular reliability updates
Manage and control AD and any mandatory documents to ensure compliance with Regulation, Airworthiness and Quality standards on relevant ATA chapters
Support mods meetings and FHS SB Scan process preparation
Liaise with the customer facing team to assist driving the relevant embodiment strategy which would maximize customer and FHS benefit
Requirements:
Relevant experience ranges between 5 - 10 years
Awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity
Master the reliability process and tools
Master the technical publication process and the documentations such as VSB, SB, SIL, TFU, AOT and OIT issued at aircraft/component level and provide recommendation
