Job Description:

At JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, the Powerhouse Operator is responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring operational efficiency while upholding Marriott’s hospitality values and safety standards. The role requires technical knowledge in various systems, as well as physical capabilities for lifting and movement of heavy equipment.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment
identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
communicate each day’s activities and occurrences to other shifts
perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb replacement, A/C filter replacement, and cleanup of areas
test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items
program TVs and perform engineering-related inventory duties
perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers
use Lockout/Tagout systems before maintenance work
move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
Driver’s License
basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building
basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
ability to move, lift, carry objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.

Nice to have:

Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
