The location in Ashdown, (Arkansas, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Power/Utilities Assistant Superintendent. This job is full-time permanent. This is a safety-sensitive position. You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
Job Responsibility:
Assist the Superintendent and Supervisors with the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities for the Power and Utilities processes, which includes power boilers, turbine generators, electrical distribution, compressed air, incoming water treatment, and effluent treatment
Plan and establish priorities for the assigned area of responsibility
Closely coordinate daily operations with Recaust/Recovery and Pulp operations
Occasionally interact with government regulatory agencies, consultants, or other organizations and professional associations
Manage and lead staff associated with the Power department to achieve the department’s objectives in the areas of safety and health, performance, environmental compliance, quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, and cost
Promote teamwork and continuous improvement to deliver on all customer requirements and service initiatives
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in paper, chemical, or mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred
7 years or more of job-related experience in job-related operations or the equivalent
Complete knowledge of the pulp manufacturing process
Ability to effectively manage personnel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced level of knowledge and demonstrated track record in leading and managing world-class safety performance
Demonstrated abilities and high-level results in pulp manufacturing, maintenance planning, scheduling, quality assurance, human relations, and continuous improvement
Established understanding of environmental and governmental compliance laws
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage others within the Power department as a team member
Capacity to lead by example
Demonstrated track record of managing a department with a high degree of accountability at all levels
