As a Team Lead Engineer in our Queensland Energy Tean, you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the energy sector. Job Responsibility:
Leading and empowering a diverse, high-performing team – guide and support specialists who help connect renewable generation, storage and hybrid projects to the NEM
Providing trusted grid advisory services – help clients navigate connection strategy, generator performance standards, system strength considerations and registration, with a focus on practical, inclusive problem-solving
Driving excellence in power system modelling – oversee the use of industry-standard tools (PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and OEM models) while coaching the team to build capability and confidence
Empowering energy transformation – work with purpose alongside clients and colleagues to deliver projects that contribute to a cleaner, more reliable and more equitable energy future
Collaborating across disciplines – partner with engineering, commercial, digital, advisory and environmental teams to co-create solutions to complex system needs
Championing quality and continuous improvement – refine modelling approaches, uplift capability and foster a learning culture that supports career development
Supporting growth and wellbeing – mentor team members, promote inclusive practices, and contribute to business development through authentic relationship-building
Build a high performing power systems team through strategic recruitment of highly skilled individuals and developing in house talent
Requirements:
Experience in power systems or grid connection – you may have 15+ years in consulting, utilities, developers or operations, or you may bring a slightly different mix of experience that aligns with grid advisory and modelling work
Strong capability in grid connection modelling – experience with PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory or equivalent tools, and an understanding of generation control systems
A collaborative and supportive leadership style – you engage confidently with clients and colleagues, value diverse perspectives, and create environments where people do their best work
Relevant electrical engineering qualifications – and RPEQ registration (or willingness to obtain)
